What is PBT?
PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) is a high-grade engineering plastic renowned for its durability and eco-conscious properties. Unlike conventional plastics, PBT decomposes in soil within 90-120 days, making it a far better alternative to nylon and other non-biodegradable materials.
While we aimed to develop 100% natural bristles, we realised that achieving the necessary durability and performance without some plastic support was not feasible. Faced with this challenge, we chose PBT as a safer, more environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic nylon or traditional plastics, ensuring a balance between functionality and sustainability. Our dual-layer bristles combine a strong, long-lasting PBT inner layer with a natural bamboo charcoal-infused outer layer, providing a gentle yet effective clean while maintaining food-grade quality.Ā
